At Vila Floresta, architecture is woven lightly into the Cerrado landscape, unfolding as a natural extension of the terrain. Buildings follow the site’s topography and existing vegetation, connected by organic paths that guide movement through shifting light and shade. The project is experienced through walking, where architecture appears gradually and nature remains the dominant presence.
Private chalets are carefully positioned to frame forest views while minimizing environmental impact. Structures in treated eucalyptus and adobe walls made from local soil provide thermal comfort through material mass, cross ventilation, and passive strategies rooted in place. The collective building acts as the village’s heart, dissolving boundaries between interior and exterior through rammed-earth walls, generous openings, and strong connection to the surrounding forest. Ecological water systems and decentralized solar energy reinforce an integrated, low-impact approach where architecture, landscape, and daily life coexist as one system.
